Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Aliaswire, a leading innovator in the payment processing industry, is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help us build a brand new SRE team. This new SRE team will be playing a key role in modernizing Aliaswire’s SaaS platform operations and preparing for rapid growth ahead. You will have an opportunity not only to be an engineer, but also to be an influencer and be a key player in building SRE practice at Aliaswire. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Operate Linux-based production and non-production environments for multiple SaaS product platforms
  • Maintain and improve current platform infrastructure (ESXi, and bare-metal servers) hosted in two datacenters
  • Migrate the platform to public cloud (AWS/GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code and other best practices
  • Develop and maintain Configuration Management
  • Deploy and maintain monitoring tools to measure the platform reliability
  • Collaborate with application architects and other stakeholders improve platform reliability (availability, performance, latency)
  • Implement security tools and processes including vulnerability scanning & management, SIEM and patch management
  • Help improve Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning procedures
  • Collaborate with development teams and help implement CI/CD release pipelines
  • Participate in and improve Incident response procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotations 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Continuous-improvement mindset
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-phased and dynamic environment
  • 7+ years experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
  • 5+ years experience working with public cloud (AWS/GCP) infrastructure
  • Deep hands-on experience with implementing and maintaining highly available production services
  • Strong programming/scripting skills – Bash/Python/Go/Java
  • Solid understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VPC etc) and TCP/IP stack
  • Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, AWS CLI)
  • Deep hands-on experience with implementing configuration management using Puppet/Ansible/Chef
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and managing monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, ELK
  • Hands-on experience with containers and container orchestration – Kubernetes/GKE/EKS
  • Experience with DR/BCP procedures
  • Exposure to working in PCI and/or HIPPA compliant production environments
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/Jenkins-DSL, GitHub etc preferred
  • Experience with administrating ESXi based environments preferred
  • Experience working in an agile environment using SCRUM process preferred
